According to Sky Germany, FC Bayern Munich is planning to find a successor to goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Although negotiations between Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer, and Sven Ulreich are ongoing, the club's management has begun considering potential succession plans.

According to Sky Sports, Bayern has a clear preference: the club does not want to sign a young goalkeeper who would immediately pressure Sven Ulreich or create an open competition for the number-one position. Instead, Bayern is looking for an experienced goalkeeper who is established, a leader, and willing to play a supporting role.

Marvin Schwäbe, Cologne's goalkeeper, is one candidate. The 31-year-old has extensive Bundesliga experience and his contract runs until summer 2027. According to reports, his contract could automatically extend if he plays 20 matches this season.

Oliver Baumann, TSG Hoffenheim's goalkeeper, is also being considered as a potential candidate at Bayern. His contract expires in 2028 with an option to extend for one additional year. The former Germany international has experience at the international level and a strong reputation.

Other goalkeepers on the list include Bernd Leno, Fulham's goalkeeper, who is contracted until 2027 with a one-year extension option; Marcel Schühen, FC Augsburg's goalkeeper, contracted until 2027; Koen Casteels, former Wolfsburg goalkeeper who currently plays for Al-Qadsiah with a contract through 2027; and Kevin Trapp, former Frankfurt goalkeeper who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain with a contract until 2028.

Additionally, the contract duration for Union Berlin's goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow remains unclear. International candidates include Lucas Hradecký, former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper who currently plays for AS Monaco with a contract until 2027 and a one-year extension option; Nick Pope, Newcastle United's goalkeeper, contracted until 2027; Juan Musso, Atlético Madrid's goalkeeper, contracted until 2028; and Rui Silva, Sporting CP's goalkeeper, contracted until 2028.

These candidates have different qualifications, but all possess high-level playing experience and generally meet Bayern's criteria for the goalkeeper position.
