Manchester City legend David Silva has reversed his retirement from football to join Hong Kong Premier League club Sha Tin, at the age of 40.

Silva made 309 Premier League appearances for City between 2010 and 2020 – the most by any player for the club.
He scored 60 goals and provided 93 assists in the Premier League – the second-most by any City player behind Kevin De Bruyne's 118 – and won the title four times.
He also lifted the FA Cup twice, the EFL Cup five times and the Community Shield twice during his time at the Etihad Stadium, as well as winning two European Championships and the World Cup with Spain.
Silva retired in 2023 following three seasons with Real Sociedad, having suffered a serious knee injury, but he will now represent a team who sit eighth in the Hong Kong Premier League after four matches, having only won promotion to the top flight last season.
"I'm so excited to go to Hong Kong and enjoy the local culture, the food in Sha Tin and, of course, football in Hong Kong," Silva said in a video posted to Instagram.
Prior to joining City, Silva started his career with Valencia, providing 46 goal involvements (21 goals, 25 assists) in 119 appearances in LaLiga.
