Real Madrid captain Valverde, who suffered an injury in the Madrid derby, was included in the squad list for the home fixture in Matchday 8 of LaLiga against Villarreal, prompting Atlético Madrid to respond with sarcasm.

Atlético Madrid issued an official statement: "We would like to congratulate Real Madrid, who continue to make history by proving that 100% of the global medical community is wrong."

Atlético Madrid also added four hashtags to the post: miraculous recovery, medical report, grade three sprain, and history written by you.
