In this round of the Premier League, Brentford drew 2-2 with Aston Villa away. After the match, head coach Keith Andrews told Matchday that he was pleased with the fighting spirit, resilience, and determination shown by the team, but he also believed the team had a chance to win the match.

On the match
Andrews said: "To be honest, I have mixed feelings. There was a lot to be pleased about today, including the spirit, resilience, and determination. Some aspects were a bit rusty, which is understandable, but I don't want to use that as an excuse.
The players had been away for three weeks, so we needed to find our balance with that. Then Shadd got injured, and Schuster was also feeling unwell and was substituted at halftime, so we were tested today. We were facing a team that I think was just finding their rhythm before the international break. However, to come to the home of a team that has invested heavily and is competing in the Champions League, and then to feel disappointed after the game, says a lot in itself."
On Shadd's injury
Andrews said: "He might have been feeling some discomfort at halftime but wanted to try to keep playing. He injured his shoulder, and we'll see how he is over the next few days."
On the team not having fully rediscovered their rhythm
Andrews said: "There were times when it felt a bit strange; everyone was trying to find their rhythm, which isn't easy. Since all the players returned, this is what I've been emphasizing: to remember what kind of team we are and how we play, not how they played for their respective national teams over the past few weeks. Players aren't robots; it takes time to get that back. But they put in a full effort and showed great fighting spirit, and I feel we had a chance to win the match."
On gaining confidence from a strong start to the season
Andrews said: "We definitely gained confidence from it. We had a strong start, and we're happy with many aspects of the team right now, including what we're doing and how we're doing it. We want to continue giving our all. We're disappointed because we could have played better; if we had executed a few key aspects better, perhaps we could have gotten the result we wanted. In that case, we would have had a very good start to the season."
