English media may still be downplaying it, but Italian media believe that Manchester United is not only "seriously considering" sacking Ten Hag, but has already identified a replacement.

No one expected this situation to arise after only six league games, but after Manchester United's worst start to a season in 40 years, Ten Hag is under immense pressure.

To make matters worse, he has already navigated the relatively "easy" part of the schedule, and a brutal run of fixtures awaits him, so his dismissal feels imminent.

While English media are not seriously discussing this possibility yet, Italian media firmly state that Ten Hag is close to being sacked and a replacement has already been decided.

Italian Media Discuss Ten Hag, Conte Named as Replacement

The Manchester United manager's job has become a poisoned chalice; from serial winners to "chosen ones" and sentimental coaches, everyone who has arrived has ultimately failed.

Ten Hag's managerial trajectory is also derailing, and it is well known that as long as INEOS is involved in club operations, there is no such thing as "unconditional support."

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United is "seriously considering" sacking Ten Hag as soon as possible, mainly because it is already completely clear who will replace him.

Reports suggest that Conte will be Ten Hag's replacement, a name that is unsurprising, as Conte recently hinted that Manchester United had expressed interest in him.

Conte's proven success in league competition is exactly what Manchester United needs right now, as domestic league performance is the primary indicator of a team's stability and strength.
