Zaniolo was interviewed by Calciomercato.com about his time at Aston Villa.

On playing for Villa

"The Premier League is the NBA of football, and honestly, it was my dream to play there. I also think my style is very well suited to that kind of football. At first, I played a lot of matches, it was an incredible season, and we ultimately qualified for the Champions League."

"However, the competition in attack was very strong, with champions like Diaby, Watkins, Rogers, and Bailey. The level was incredibly high, and I could say that I needed to adapt both on the pitch and in life, even culturally. Then I have to be honest—I really missed Italy."

"Nevertheless, I think I achieved great satisfaction, like beating Arsenal 2-0 as a starter. It was an experience that enriched my personal understanding, and I'm happy to have helped an important club like Aston Villa qualify for the Champions League."
