The Oluyole Warriors currently sit in the relegation zone, but their handler believes they will improve if they convert more of their chances in the concluding part of the league

Shooting Stars coach, Fatai Amoo has disclosed that his team are working on their profligacy in front of goal ahead of the second round of the 2016/17 Nigerian topflight season.

The Oluyole Warriors, 17th on the table with 22 points, recorded a paltry 17 goals in the 19 games played in the first half of the campaign. 

A factor which the former Nigeria U23 assistant coach considers worrisome.

"Our challenge has been to score goals. We have discovered our errors and that's the reason why we didn't finish well in the first round," Amoo told Goal. 

"If you check the number of goals we scored; we scored 17 and conceded 20. That shows that we aren't scoring goals.

"I've said that to the team this morning. Imagine a player scored 17 goals same as the number of goals scored by a team, you don't need an oracle to tell you the problem."

However, the gaffer hailed the creativity in his side, saying: "However, I am happy that we were very creative in the first round, we created a lot of chances but didn't score so many goals.

"It would have been a bigger problem if we didn't create chances but now we have been working on converting our chances.

"If we don't improve on our first round performance then that will be a huge problem. 

"[Although], I will not like to divulge my strategies going into the second round because it will amount to me exposing my team before the league resumes," he concluded.
