Ulinzi Stars have managed to pick just two points in te month of April

Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo has cautioned his players ahead of the Kenyan Premier League weekend match against Nakumatt.

Ulinzi will make a road trip to Machakos to take on Nakumatt, still oozing with confidence following the recent change of fortune following the acquisition of the team by City politician Francis Mureithi.

Both teams are going into the fixture at the backdrop of identical draws picked in their last outings but while Nakumatt may be excused from the scrutiny due to the financial constraints the team was undergoing, Ulinzi, on the other hand, have had a poor run in the last couple of games.

Ulinzi have managed to pick just two points in April and the matter was worsened by a barren draw against Thika United at home last weekend.

A clash with Nakumatt, a side who will be going all out to impress the new owner could not have come at a worse time for the tactician.

“We are going to a very tough game and this is very important. Nakumatt is a team full of experienced players and should be approached with caution.

Nyaudo will draw strength from the fact that his strikers have started to find their groove if only they will replicate their performance against Gachie Fc in a build-up match.

All the forwards, Oscar Wamalwa, Ibrahim Shambi, Charles Orinda, Justus Onuonga, Masita Masuta and Elvis Nandwa were on target in the 6-0 win and Nyaudo hopes that the goals will instil some level on confidence on his forwards.

“Finishing has been the biggest headache for us in the past few matches so we need to work on that ahead of the weekend game and I also wanted to see our build-up play. I am happy that all our key forwards scored, which is crucial in bringing back their confidence,” Nyaudo was quoted on the club’s website.

“The confidence is there now; I have seen good response since the Thika United game and I can feel the boys are ready to give their all. We have spoken about the chances we have been creating but not scoring and they now understand why it is important to convert them.

Ulinzi are seventh on the log with 16 points, nine above bottom-placed Nakumatt.
