Former Liverpool striker and Brisbane Roar manager Robbie Fowler has revealed that he wants to manage in the Premier League.

The 44-year-old is currently gaining experience at the Australian A-League outfit after being appointed as manager last April.

Brisbane Roar sit in sixth place with a chance of reaching the play-offs and Fowler is targeting being a boss in the English top flight.

'I want to manage in the Premier League and I want Tony (former Everton midfielder and current assistant at Brisbane) to come with me as part of my team in the Premier League,' Fowler told Sky Sports.

'I don't think I can be any broader than that. I've got massive aspirations of getting where I believe I will get to. I'm going to do everything I can to get there.

'It starts here, it really does. We know there's a big world out there, there's lot of opportunities and we're ready to take them.'

In response to whether he would be England manager one day, Fowler added: 'I'd settle for Liverpool first!'
