South Korean international Lee Ki-eok was interviewed by Korean media outlet KBS about the Asian Games.

On the surge in popularity following World Cup participation and subsequent commitments

"I received requests I had never done before in my life, such as winking at the camera, which proved to be a difficult task. I personally felt very tormented during that period. The head coach told me that if I want to become a better player, I will face more difficult challenges than this in the future, and encouraged me to overcome them."

On being selected for the Asian Games as an overage player

"I personally long to play in Europe. If I can win the Asian Games gold medal, I also hope to challenge myself on the European stage."

On Kim Min-jae

"Brother Kim Min-jae taught me a lot about controlling every detail of my defense during the World Cup. Based on these experiences, I need to communicate more with my fellow defenders. We need to work towards the same goal without distraction, and the whole team will give our best effort."
