Sporting CP opened their Champions League campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Galatasaray.

Geny Catamo was named Player of the Match after contributing a goal and delivering key passes throughout. Gonçalo Inácio, Catamo, and one of Luis Suárez or Rodrigo Zalazar found the net as Sporting dominated the contest from start to finish.
