On September 20th, the Brazilian Football Confederation officially announced that Roma defender Wesley has withdrawn from the Brazil national team squad due to injury, with Monaco defender Vanderson called up as his replacement.

Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti had previously selected Wesley for the current international break, but due to injury, the player is unable to participate in the upcoming matches and has withdrawn from the squad.
This is not the first time Wesley has been ruled out due to injury. Before the 2022 World Cup, Wesley was selected for the squad but suffered a muscle injury to his left adductor during a warm-up match against Egypt. Following an MRI scan, the Brazilian medical team confirmed the injury, and Wesley ultimately missed the tournament. The Brazilian Football Confederation subsequently called up Atalanta midfielder Ederson as his replacement.
Following Wesley's withdrawal, Ancelotti has called up Monaco defender Vanderson as his replacement. Vanderson will join the team for the upcoming friendly matches against Australia and India.
Vanderson will have the opportunity to represent Brazil during this international break.
