In the second round of the UEFA Nations League, Germany suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Greece. Klopp has drawn one and lost one since taking over, and has yet to secure his first victory with the national team.

Klopp's debut with Germany ended in a 1-1 away draw against the Netherlands, and his second match was a 0-1 home loss to Greece. According to statistics, Klopp is only the third coach in Germany's history to remain winless in his first two matches.

The previous two were Sepp Herberger and Helmut Schön. Both coaches won their third matches with Germany and later led the team to World Cup titles. Herberger won the 1954 World Cup, while Schön guided Germany to victory in the 1974 World Cup.
