During Argentina's pre-match press conference, head coach Scaloni addressed the future of Messi's No. 10 jersey. Scaloni stated that no player would wear the number in Argentina's two friendly matches before Messi's farewell game.

Regarding the future of Messi's No. 10 national team jersey, Scaloni said: "We will not give the No. 10 to anyone until Leo's farewell. After that match, we will start to consider who to give it to. Although we can change numbers in friendly matches, our idea is to keep it fixed. We don't have a final decision yet."

Argentina will face Bolivia on October 1, Burkina Faso on October 4, and Benin on October 7 (CEST), with the match against Benin serving as Messi's farewell game for the national team.
