According to RMC Sport, Sweden national team head coach Graham Potter joked about the recent high-profile Manchester City financial fair play case during his pre-match press conference ahead of the UEFA Nations League match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sweden will play Bosnia and Herzegovina away this Friday in their third UEFA Nations League match of the season. Previously, they defeated Romania 2-1 and Poland 3-1 at home and currently lead Group H.
However, Sweden faces a severe shortage of players for this match, with seven players unable to travel with the team. Five are sidelined due to viral infections, while Emil Holm and Alexander Isak were injured in the first match and subsequently left the national team training camp early.
When asked about the large number of absent players, Potter chuckled and said, "The number of players we have missing is almost as many as the charges Manchester City has been found guilty of."
His remarks drew laughter from journalists present at the press conference. Viktor Gyökeres, the Swedish forward sitting next to Potter, also smiled.
Potter previously managed Brighton from 2019 to 2022, facing Pep Guardiola's Manchester City multiple times in the Premier League. His joke referred to Manchester City's recent verdict in their financial case. According to RMC Sport, Manchester City was found to have violated 114 relevant rules.
Potter later went on to manage Chelsea and West Ham United before taking charge of the Sweden national team. This summer, he led Sweden at the 2026 World Cup, where they lost 0-3 to France in the Round of 32.
