On October 2, during South Korea's friendly match against Venezuela, Kim Min-jae engaged in a heated argument with South Korea head coach R. Moreno on the sideline after being substituted. His emotions during the match and his post-match comments drew significant attention from Korean media and fans.

The match, held at Ulsan Munsu World Cup Stadium, ended in a 0-0 draw between South Korea and Venezuela. Facing an opponent ranked 48th by FIFA, South Korea struggled to create dangerous attacking opportunities and delivered an overall underwhelming performance. In the first 45 minutes, South Korea barely produced meaningful attacking chances, and their play showed little improvement in the second half. Instead, they faced several threatening attacks from Venezuela.

Kim Min-jae was one of the most active players in South Korea's defensive line. He made several tackles and won the ball repeatedly, helping his team secure a clean sheet. In the 35th minute, Kim Min-jae was substituted, and he subsequently removed his shoe near the bench and threw it forcefully to the ground. Broadcast footage also showed Kim Min-jae speaking with Moreno afterward, appearing visibly emotional.

Korean media reported that Min-jae, the "monster defender" known for speaking his mind, has displayed clear frustration in two consecutive matches. Against Uruguay, he sat on the bench with his eyes closed, seemingly trying to suppress his emotions; against Venezuela, he angrily threw his shoe to the ground after being substituted and voiced his opinion to Moreno in a notably forceful tone.

When accounting for the protest gesture Kim Min-jae directed at South Korea's coach at that time, Kim Jin-kyu, after being substituted in the match against South Africa, he has openly displayed clear frustration in three of his last four matches.

In the match against Venezuela, Kim Min-jae helped his team keep a clean sheet with solid defending and was named Man of the Match.
