Norway head coach Ståle Solbakken attended a pre-match press conference on Saturday ahead of the match against Portugal, and he did not hesitate to address the hot topic: Ronaldo's absence.

Solbakken said: "For the first match, we prepared for both scenarios – with Ronaldo and without him. Now it's clearer that we need to prepare for the situation without him. I believe Portugal will make some adjustments. They have 25 or 26 players, with excellent players in every position. They have many quality players, and all of them are capable of playing."

"Portugal is currently one of the top two or three teams in Europe."

Solbakken said: "I think the first 60 minutes of our first match against Portugal was one of our best performances. I hope we can replicate that display this time. I believe we played better in that match (in Oslo), but unfortunately we couldn't get the win."

"Now we're playing away, and we'll try to control the match and see how far we can go. But we have great respect for Portugal. Currently, they are arguably one of the top two or three teams in Europe."

"I'm very pleased with my team, and we're very optimistic. We won't try to play a low defensive block or similar tactics; instead, we'll continue doing what we've done over the past two years."
