AC Milan defender Mario Gila recalled his past experience training alongside Modric at Real Madrid during the Trento Sports Festival.

Gila stated: "I was with Real Madrid's first team for 3-4 months, and Ancelotti gave me my debut. I never played alongside Modric in a match, but he was excellent in training. I still remember one incident: I was training as a young player, and I was very aggressive and reckless, not caring at all about the risk of injuring others with my tackles. On one occasion, I made two hard tackles against Rodrygo. Modric told Ancelotti: 'He's always like this, Carlo.' Then the coach came to me and said: 'Listen, Modric said your tackles are too hard...' We still joke about it now. He has won six Champions League titles, but he has such a calm demeanor, and there is so much to learn from him."
