According to Goal.com, former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos praised England international Jude Bellingham's technical and physical abilities, believing that once he regains full fitness and peak form, he has the potential to become the world's best midfielder, despite facing considerable criticism in England.

Kroos made these remarks on "Einfach mal Luppen," a podcast he co-hosts with his brother Felix, which also featured former England defender Rio Ferdinand. On the show, he discussed Bellingham's abilities and his future at Real Madrid.
Kroos stated: "In my opinion, Bellingham is one of the most complete midfielders in the world. If he's in top form, I think he is the best midfielder in the world, or at least he has the potential to be."
The German midfielder's praise carries particular weight because he played alongside Bellingham at Real Madrid during the 2023-24 season, when they won LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup together, giving Kroos a close-up view of the English player's abilities on the pitch.
Kroos pointed out that Bellingham uniquely combines strong physicality, excellent technique, and tactical awareness, along with the ability to win duels, score with both feet, compete in aerial challenges, and make runs into the opponent's box.
The German midfielder emphasized that Bellingham's versatility gives him a significant advantage, as he can initiate attacks from deep, operate in midfield, drift between midfield and attack, and participate in offensive plays. This makes it difficult to pin him down to a single position, but it also requires appropriate tactical deployment to fully unleash his capabilities.
Kroos also addressed the criticism Bellingham has faced in England, explaining that players often experience greater pressure and more scrutiny from media and the public in their home country. He added that such criticism doesn't necessarily reflect a player's true ability.
Kroos believes Bellingham's main challenge is not his technical skill but rather his ability to recover full fitness and confidence, enabling him to consistently perform at his best and help Real Madrid maintain balance between defense and attack.
The German midfielder concluded by saying that Bellingham possesses the qualities needed to become the world's best midfielder, and once he achieves peak physical condition, he might just surpass all rivals in that position.
