According to Di Marzio, Alaba stated at his Udinese press conference that he has always wanted to play in Serie A and is ready to feature.

Alaba said: "Udinese is a team with tradition, a club with a long history."
The Austrian defender attended the press conference after joining Udinese on a free transfer. Regarding his position on the field, he said: "I can play many positions, and I'm here to help the team."
Alaba also mentioned that he is happy to take on responsibility, as he has done with the Austrian national team, Bayern, and Real Madrid.
Alaba hopes to perform well at Udinese and once again become a key player for Austria.
He said: "I've always been in touch with the coach, and we have a good relationship. I believe this period at Udinese can help me return to my best form. We've agreed to skip this round of national team call-ups."
Regarding his reasons for joining, Alaba stated: "I mainly spoke with the coach, and he convinced me of the project here. I took my time to make the decision and later became convinced that this was the right path for me. I have always wanted to play in Serie A."
Alaba also revealed that he had previously been in contact with other Italian clubs. He said: "I feel very good and am ready to play. I've trained with the whole team, and I can say I'm ready for the match."
