He then announced the news: "I want to tell everyone that I am very excited right now because I will be singing our national anthem at Messi's farewell event at the Monumental Stadium."

For Santana, singing the national anthem at such a significant event is not only an honor but also holds important personal meaning. As a Malvinas War veteran, his participation adds another layer of symbolism to this event celebrating the captain of the Argentine national team.

Santana has been invited to sing the national anthem at important Argentine sporting events on multiple occasions, accumulating extensive experience.

He previously participated in ceremonies for the 2011 Davis Cup, the 75th-anniversary celebration of the Argentine Road Racing Championship, and matches involving the Argentine national rugby team. He also sang the national anthem during the 2026 Argentine Spring League final between River Plate and Belgrano and the derby between Nueva Chicago and All Boys.

Santana has collaborated with the Argentine national football team on several occasions. During the 2022 Qatar World Cup South American Qualifiers, he sang the national anthem at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium during Argentina's match against Colombia, and later performed the same at La Bombonera during Argentina's match against Venezuela.
