In Matchday 5 of the Bundesliga, Bayern drew 2-2 away to Augsburg. After the match, Bayern goalkeeper Neuer was interviewed, discussing his early mistake, his mental adjustment after conceding, and the team's multiple disallowed goals.

Neuer said: "It was a silly mistake on my part. Two players were pressing me from my right, so I had to move the ball to the left. Then I tried to find a solution, but I should have made a different decision.
After conceding, I first needed to calm myself down, take a deep breath, and put the mistake behind me. Of course, we still had a lot of hope at that point because it was only the first minute of the game, and we still had a chance to turn things around.
We created some chances, but unfortunately we couldn't convert them. Additionally, we were quite unlucky with several very tight offside calls.
This was a game most of us had never experienced before. To score so many goals only for them to be disallowed one after another was certainly quite bizarre."
