According to Italian media outlet Calcio e Finanza, 16 members of the Federal Council were elected at today's Italian Football Federation assembly, including Internazionale President Giuseppe Marotta. The new Federation president will be chosen between Abete and Malagò.

According to the report, Internazionale president Marotta, along with Stefano Campoccia and Juventus' strategic football director Giorgio Chiellini, will continue to serve as Federal Council members representing Serie A.
These Federal Council members' terms will last until the end of the four-year Olympic cycle that began under Gravina's tenure. Gravina resigned after Italy failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
