Previously, Rayo Vallecano officially announced that defender Nobel Mendy had joined Hull City.

Hull City spent 25 million euros to acquire 87.5% ownership of Mendy, surpassing Chavarría, who had just joined Chelsea for a fixed fee of 21 million plus 3 million in variables, to become Rayo Vallecano's most expensive player in history.
In fact, because these two transfers were completed one after another, Chavarría's position as the most expensive player in the team's history was given up before it even warmed up.
Before this, Rayo Vallecano's most expensive player in history was Embarba, who Rayo Vallecano sold to Espanyol for 10 million euros.
However, since Real Betis retained 20% ownership of Mendy, 5 million of the 25 million euros Rayo Vallecano received will go to Real Betis.
In the 25/26 season, Mendy played 28 times for Rayo Vallecano in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing no assists.
