Moreira's exit was part of a trio of blockbuster sales that also saw Julio Enciso join Ipswich Town for €30.5m and Guemissongui Ouattara head to the same club for €20m — both deals completed on August 17.

The departures did not stop there. Rabby Nzingoula was sold to West Bromwich Albion for €2.4m on August 11, while Rayane Messi joined Al-Ettifaq FC on loan on August 14 and defender Saïdou Sow moved to FC Nantes on loan on August 7. In total, six players have left the club, stripping Strasbourg of significant experience and attacking firepower in a remarkably short window of activity.

On the incoming side, the marquee acquisition is Karim Coulibaly, who arrives from Werder Bremen for €20m on August 21 — the club's most expensive purchase this window.
