According to the latest reports from Marca, Deco is now focusing on contract renewals, hoping to extend the contracts of Bernal, Hamza Abdelkarim, and Espart.

Reportedly, with the summer transfer window closed, Deco's focus has shifted to securing the future of key players. During the summer window, their efforts were not on renewals but entirely on finding new players and completing scheduled departures. Now that the transfer window has closed, the work on renewals has just begun, with three key targets: Bernal, Hamza Abdelkarim, and Espart.

The club has initiated contact with Bernal. Deco met with Bernal's agent shortly after signing Rodri. The purpose of this meeting was twofold: first, to explain to Bernal that Rodri's arrival would not hinder his development, as the club has full confidence in him; second, to offer Bernal a proposal that would improve and extend his contract.

The club hopes to extend Bernal's contract by two years; his current contract expires in 2029. Additionally, given his excellent performance, the club will improve his salary. Barcelona does not want any surprises with Bernal's renewal, and they are aware that, given his talent and youth, many clubs would be willing to pay a high price to sign him.

Another player in urgent need of an improved contract is Hamza Abdelkarim, whose progress has been rapid. At the end of last season, Barcelona activated a buy-out clause to sign him for 1.5 million euros. At that time, he was included in Egypt's World Cup squad and made a strong impression in just a few minutes of play during the World Cup.
