Wolves officially announced that the club has renewed its contract with Portuguese international goalkeeper José Sá until 2028.

Goalkeeper José Sá has signed a new contract with Wolves, keeping him at Molineux until the summer of 2028.

The Portuguese international is now entering his sixth season with Wolves, having previously been in the final year of his old contract. Following the renewal, he will continue to add to his record of 174 appearances for Wolves.

José Sá officially joined Wolves in July 2021. In Bruno Lage's first season in charge, he performed brilliantly, keeping 11 clean sheets and being voted Player of the Season by both fans and teammates.

Over the subsequent two seasons, the goalkeeper maintained a perfect attendance record. In February 2024, in the winning match against Tottenham Hotspur, Gary O'Neil handed him the captain's armband for the first time; since then, he has increasingly taken on leadership responsibilities, becoming one of the core members of the dressing room.

Despite competition for the goalkeeper position within the team in recent years, José Sá has consistently been the team's first choice. He featured regularly after Vitor Pereira took over, and in the recent match against Sheffield Wednesday, he achieved his 41st clean sheet in his Wolves career.
