Brighton & Hove Albion celebrated their 125th anniversary with a memorable victory, defeating Premier League champions Arsenal 3-0 at home while wearing retro kits in the style of 1901. After the match, Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler praised his team's performance and paid tribute to everyone who has contributed to the club throughout its history.

Hürzeler began his press conference by saying: "First of all, I want to congratulate this special club, everyone who has ever contributed to it, and everyone who is still contributing now."

"The club's past is impressive, and I hope everyone who was part of our journey tonight was able to enjoy this moment."

Speaking about the 3-0 victory over Arsenal, Hürzeler said: "Of course, it's a special result. Our opponent is the Premier League champion, and probably the best team in England right now."

"But for me, the team's performance is even more important. I always try to focus on performance rather than result, and we played very well from the start of the match."

"We did the fundamental things well. We won individual duels, took the first tackle, made the first throw-in, and won the first corner."

"When Arsenal tried to build up play, we maintained very high intensity and tried to disrupt their fluid combinations. Beyond that, I think we found a good balance between controlling possession and maintaining defensive stability."

Hürzeler also specifically praised his players' performance after a busy week of matches and travel: "I have to give huge credit to my players, especially after such a difficult week with a lot of travel. To still put in a performance like that shows very strong character. They deserve to enjoy this moment today."

When asked if a 5-0 victory for Brighton wouldn't have been an exaggeration, Hürzeler did not dwell on the missed opportunities.

He said: "I think it's very important now to remain humble and not talk about the chances we didn't take. Arsenal actually created some chances too."

"We should enjoy this moment, but at the same time understand why we are able to have such moments and why we can succeed. Ultimately, we always need to return to our foundations and basics, which is to do the fundamental things extremely well, be a team full of intensity, and truly trust each other."

Hürzeler believes that mutual trust among players was one of the keys to victory: "One key point today was that when a player went into an individual duel, he always knew, 'my teammate is right behind me.'"

"Even if you lose a challenge, the next teammate will be there. That's how you build trust."

"Sometimes we talk a lot about tactics and tactical setups, but the ultimate question is: can you rely on each other on the pitch? Can you trust each other? Does everyone know their responsibilities in set pieces? Can you stay focused at every moment and in every situation during the game?"

"Today, my players did all of that in an impressive way."
