Athletic Club coach Terzic was quite dissatisfied with the draw against Alavés. After the match, he openly stated that the team's first-half performance was terrible and said he would use training to address the problems.

Terzic said, "This match needs to be looked at in two parts. The first half was our worst performance of the season; our passing was not accurate enough, and we didn't create clear chances. We want to be a complete team. We had 24 shots throughout the game, but the overall performance did not match our training level. I am disappointed with the team's display on the field. We demand more from the team and ourselves."
Regarding the problems exposed by the team, Terzic believes they cannot be solved by meetings: "All the answers are in Lezama (Athletic Club's training ground), and we must improve through training. This is not a problem that can be solved by meetings; we need to train well, and we will do that."
He also praised the team's second-half performance: "In the second half, we improved our control of the game, and our defense was also solid. But we must be more decisive in the final third. Every player needs to step up individually. We are ready, but it will take some time to become more consistent."
Regarding the team's current record of 8 points from 18 games, Terzic said: "It's normal for me to feel angry and disappointed; it's okay to have these emotions today, but not tomorrow. During this upcoming league break, we will regroup and train in the best possible condition. We must get into the opponent's box more, and we have been working on that. Everyone is frustrated, but this is actually a good thing because we must change the status quo on the training ground. I have great faith in this group of players and believe we will win soon. Four consecutive games without a loss is not a bad result, but we still need to aim for victory."
When talking about the midfield combination, Terzic said: "Every player has their own characteristics. We will try to pair players who are good at controlling the ball in this position with players who are faster and stronger physically."
Regarding Nico Serrano's appearance, Terzic explained: "There isn't a single player in the squad I'm dissatisfied with. I wanted a left-footed player on the right side, and he has been training very hard in recent weeks. We have confidence in the entire squad."
Speaking about opponents playing with a compact defense, Terzic said: "Every time Elche or Alavés are mentioned, you only talk about their defense. But Elche was actually one of the teams with the highest possession rates in the opening rounds of the season. We forced them to drop back and defend in the game, precisely because of our playing style. We must continue to improve our performance."
As for the penalty taker, Terzic revealed that it was an internal team decision: "This was our own decision because penalties are also part of training. It was the first time I saw him miss a penalty on Saturday. We will do our best to ensure he scores next time."
