The England national team has officially announced that Jude Bellingham has been named England Men's Player of the Year for the 2025-2026 season. This marks Bellingham's second consecutive win of the award, which is voted on by fans via the official England app.

Bellingham played 12 matches for England in the past season, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist. He scored all 7 goals at the 2026 World Cup, setting a new scoring record for an England men's player in a major tournament and helping the Three Lions achieve their best World Cup performance since winning in 1966.

Bellingham said: "It feels incredible. To be recognized by the fans again is a huge honor. When you play for the national team, you don't think about these things, but it's obviously a wonderful addition to a great summer."

Reflecting on his performance this summer, England head coach Thomas Tuchel stated: "I think he was one of the best players in the tournament, not just for us, but for the entire competition. He lived up to his full potential, and you can see how competitive and focused he is."

"He thrives under pressure, he loves these moments, he loves these stages, and it brings out the best in him."

Bellingham's 7 goals at the World Cup included a brace in the 3-2 Round of 16 victory over hosts Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, and two more goals in the 2-1 quarter-final win against Norway.

Bellingham said that defeating Mexico was undoubtedly the highlight of his 2025-26 season.

He said: "It was a big occasion. There was a lot of talk before the game about the altitude, and going into their territory—they've been very strong there at the World Cup for many years. To be able to win that game, face adversity, and have a good impact was incredible."

Prior to that, at 22 years and 353 days old, he became the youngest European player to feature in four major tournaments, starting and scoring in the 4-2 opening match victory against Croatia.

Six days later, he became the youngest England player to reach 50 national team appearances in the group stage match against Ghana.

This summer in the United States and Mexico, Bellingham shared unforgettable moments with England fans, singing "Wonderwall" with supporters and the entire team after every victory.

When asked what the fans meant to him, he said: "Passion, passion. They always come in numbers. They always sing louder than every team we face. Yes, it makes a huge difference for us on the pitch."
