According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma's new stadium has been approved by the Decision-Making Services Conference, with the club aiming to break ground in Piana del Sole in March 2027. The stadium is planned for completion before 2031, with the goal of serving the 2032 European Championship.

The Decision-Making Services Conference was chaired by Massimo Cessa, the government's special commissioner for 2032 European Championship stadium affairs, who played a crucial role in accelerating the approval process.

Approximately 50 agencies and technical departments participated in the conference, with representatives from relevant ministries, the National Heritage Protection Agency, Roma, the Municipality of Roma, and the Lazio Region in attendance.

Next, Roma needs to submit a detailed implementation plan. This will be followed by the issuance of tender documents, initiating the bidding process for public works and urban infrastructure related to the project. Construction can only begin after these necessary steps are completed.

Roma and the city government have jointly set March 2027 as the target groundbreaking date, when the "first cornerstone" is planned to be laid.
