According to Portuguese media outlet Record, Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus posted on social media on Tuesday to celebrate his team's perfect record in their first four UEFA Nations League matches and their early qualification for the quarterfinals. Jesus expressed satisfaction with the team's performance and confidence for the next stage of the competition.

Jesus posted photos from Portugal's four previous matches on his personal social media, writing: "We have completed this stage with excellent results. Four matches, four wins, defeating Wales, Denmark, and Norway twice! Let's move on to the next stage, we are full of confidence!"

Since the start of this UEFA Nations League campaign, Portugal has performed exceptionally, securing their spot in the quarterfinals with just four matches played. Following their latest victory against Norway, Jesus has led the team to four consecutive wins, marking a strong start to his tenure as Portugal's national team coach.

Currently, Portugal leads UEFA Nations League A, Group 4, with 12 points, needing just one more point to officially secure first place in the group. Meanwhile, Denmark's one-goal away victory over Wales keeps the battle for second place wide open. Since the second-placed team also advances to the quarterfinals, other teams still have a chance to qualify.

It should be noted that Portugal's 12 points from four matches sets a new record for the best points tally in this stage of the UEFA Nations League. Previously, Portugal had earned 10 points in the first four matches of the 2020/21 and 2024/25 seasons, records that have now been surpassed.

However, the format of the inaugural UEFA Nations League edition was different. In the 2018/19 season, each group consisted of only three teams, and Portugal ultimately won the first Nations League title, lifting the trophy again in 2025.

Currently, two matches remain in the group stage of the UEFA Nations League. For Portugal, already qualified, the next objective is to officially secure first place in the group and aim to complete this stage with a perfect six-win record.
