Iturralde González, a former LaLiga referee and current referee analyst, stated on Cadena SER that Mourinho and his coaching staff deliberately create tension before, during, and after matches to make Real Madrid fans believe their team is being treated unfairly.

Tensions between Real Madrid and the refereeing establishment continue to escalate. Real Madrid's intensified criticism of referees and the atmosphere surrounding officials at every match have raised concerns at the Spanish Football Federation. Mourinho and his coaching staff are again under scrutiny, accused of employing a sustained pressure strategy against referees.

Commenting on Real Madrid's coaching staff approach, Iturralde said: "This is a strategy adopted by Real Madrid's coaching staff to create tension before, during, and after matches."

According to him, the aim extends beyond disputing individual decisions to shaping a particular narrative around Real Madrid. Iturralde stated: "They want to spread a narrative that doesn't match the facts, to make their fans feel their team is being treated unfairly, creating the impression that everyone is against Real Madrid."

Iturralde believes Mourinho's arrival has changed how Real Madrid pressures referees. On this point, Iturralde said: "From last season to this season, Real Madrid hasn't changed many players, but this season, everyone protests every foul, every throw-in. When Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso, and Arbeloa were in charge, they didn't do this, but under Mourinho, they do. This is all learned and practiced."

Iturralde also connected this situation to the upcoming El Clásico and the backdrop of the Negreira case. According to him, this unresolved case intensifies the controversy surrounding referees. Iturralde stated: "The Negreira case remains unresolved, and the noise surrounding referees is even louder. El Clásico takes place in two weeks, and Mourinho happens to be an expert at creating tension. He's done this in Portugal, Italy, and England; he uses these methods to compete. This is nothing new."

Javier Herráez stated that a day after the match against Villarreal, Real Madrid internally remained convinced that the referee's decisions had harmed the team. However, the club was also concerned about the team's performance, as they didn't play to the level the club expected.

Anton Meana also questioned Mourinho's priorities. Anton Meana said: "Mourinho came to Real Madrid to make the team play better football, but also to bring up the Negreira case every day. He should care more about how the team plays than about how referees manage Real Madrid's matches."
