The Peace Boys defender is ineligible to feature at CHAN, but he is hoping to see his nation tackle the Super Eagles in the qualifiers.

Plateau United defender, Salomon Junior is relishing the prospect of seeing Nigeria face Benin in a African Nations Championship qualifier, should they overcome come Togo in the first round of matches.

The Squirrels defensive ace does not want to count his eggs before they are hatched as he maintained that a win over Togo is very important.

The CHAN first round qualifying match between Togo and Benin is scheduled for 14th and 21st of July and the winner will face Nigeria on August 11th and 18th for a ticket the Kenya 2018.  

"I'm not qualified to play because the tournament is meant for local-based players who play in their home country's league, but seeing Benin play against Nigeria is always a welcome opportunity for me because I play in the Nigerian League," Salomon told Goal.

"We have to scale through the hurdle Togo posses at us first before we think of Nigeria. If we make it through the two legs and have to face Nigeria, it'll be nice because I have a good knowledge of what to expect.

"Getting a win against the Super Eagles will be a good thing because Nigeria is one of Africa's big teams.

"For now, I will leave it after the task against Togo then gladly welcome the Nigerian challenge if the opportunity arises. "
