After Liverpool's 2-4 friendly loss to Leeds United, substitute youngster Lewis Koumas was interviewed by The Redmen TV.

"I think I can play on the left, right, as a number 10, and also as a striker."
"I think that's one of my strengths, and that's why I've been able to play under so many coaches during my loan spells."
"But personally, I feel I'm best suited to playing on the left wing or as a number 9."
"When playing as a number 9, I can run on both sides, make more runs in behind, and press more actively. I think that's where I'm strongest."
When asked about how his playing style fits into Iraola's philosophy, Koumas added: "I think what he wants to instill in the team, I have the ability to accomplish the tasks he demands with my running and high intensity."
"So, let's see what happens next."
"Ultimately, I'm willing to do anything to play on the pitch for Liverpool."
"I feel I'm most effective as a number 9, in a central position, because I can run on both sides. But I don't mind playing on the wing, on the right, left, as a number 10, or as a number 9."
