According to RTL Boulevard, there has been no progress between Van Gaal and the KNVB.

The Telegraaf revealed earlier that 74-year-old Van Gaal is willing to return to the Dutch national team and stated that he is "in better shape than ever."
Therefore, RTL Boulevard interviewed Van Gaal's wife, Truus, about the relevant rumors. She said that most of these rumors are not true, and Van Gaal and the KNVB are not in contact at the moment.
Truus said: "I think Louis (Van Gaal) recently told someone that the KNVB could call him at any time. Obviously, this has been exaggerated since then. Nothing is happening now, Louis is in great shape on the golf course."
The KNVB was also asked for comment, but the organization stated that it is currently busy looking for a new coach. Reiziger seems to be leading the candidate list at the moment. According to Voetbal International, Football Director Nigel de Jong and Technical Committee member Seedorf had "long" discussions with current Netherlands U21 coach Reiziger on Sunday, and both sides have delved into the details.
The former Dutch international has been considered an important candidate by the KNVB in recent weeks. Slot was originally seen as the ideal candidate, but after he was unable to take over, the coaching search entered a new phase. The in-depth discussions with Reiziger show that the KNVB is still taking his candidacy very seriously. Van Nistelrooy currently seems to be the only other serious alternative still in contention.
