According to RTL Boulevard, there has been no progress between Van Gaal and the KNVB.

Slot was originally seen as the ideal candidate, but after he was unable to take over, the coaching search entered a new phase. The in-depth discussions with Reiziger show that the KNVB is still taking his candidacy very seriously. Van Nistelrooy currently seems to be the only other serious alternative still in contention.
