According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Freiburg goalkeeper Atubolu has received transfer inquiries from Juventus and Napoli.

The report states that Atubolu's agent team is currently traveling to Italy to negotiate a transfer with Napoli and Juventus. Freiburg has also lowered its asking price, willing to let him go for €15 million, instead of the previously reported €20 million.

Atubolu himself is also more willing to compromise. A few months ago, he was determined to go to the Premier League, but now he is also considering playing in Serie A in the future. This is also related to the fact that he was once forced to sit in the stands due to his insistence on leaving the team.

When Atubolu insisted on leaving, Freiburg had already signed his successor, Mio Backhaus, from Bremen for a transfer fee of €12 million. However, due to the different and relatively slow market mechanism for goalkeepers in the Premier League, Atubolu once faced the risk of staying at Freiburg without playing, as he could not find a buyer that met both his sporting aspirations and the club's financial requirements.

Currently, only promoted teams Hull City and Coventry in England have expressed interest in Atubolu and Freiburg. However, neither of these options is clearly enough to impress the 24-year-old goalkeeper. Atubolu hopes to establish himself as Germany's number one goalkeeper in the coming years.

If he joins Juventus, Atubolu will most likely compete with Michele Di Gregorio for the starting position. Napoli has already signed 29-year-old Vanja Milinkovic-Savic this summer, who played for Napoli on loan last season for a loan fee of up to €15 million, and then Napoli officially signed him with a mandatory buyout clause of €6 million.
