Magnificent League Start. The team has made a strong start across all competitions. You must be feeling confident, right?

Absolutely, but this is only the beginning. Our goal is to pick up as many points as possible and make steady progress across all competitions, which we've managed to do. But football isn't about how you start—it's about how you finish, and that's what we constantly remind each other. The whole squad needs to maintain a high level of competition every day, and that's always our objective.

Mikel's Likely Starter. You've started every Premier League match this season. The club has tremendous talent. How does it feel to secure a starting position?

It feels really special, and of course, it all comes down to hard work every day. Ultimately, all I can do is give my all each day. The club has certain non-negotiable principles: work hard and be a good teammate. As long as I do those things and perform to the best of my ability, I have no regrets.

But a starting spot is never guaranteed, and besides, we have another MLS—Massively Loaded Squad. The midfield especially is incredibly strong right now.

That's how it should be. When you're the league champions, both the club and every player need to find ways to improve. Strengthening and upgrading the current squad is certainly a huge advantage for us. We have to deal with external expectations, but that's a good thing, and we're ready for it.

Guimarães has also joined, making competition for your position even fiercer. Do you embrace this challenge with so many competitors in midfield?

The club has many talented players, which will push everyone to raise their game. That's essential. With world-class teammates around you, everyone will lift their level and training intensity will increase. That's definitely a positive thing.

Mainly Left Side. Another MLS. You initially broke through in the first team as a left-back, then lost opportunities in that position, and later shifted to central midfield. How was that period for you, when you were giving everything but had limited chances?

Those were difficult times. A professional career is never smooth sailing, especially at a club like Arsenal where everyone wants to play, but minutes aren't guaranteed. During that period, I had to understand myself, figure out what I could bring to the team, and work on my fundamentals. Now, I'm really grateful for the faith shown in me by the manager and the squad.

When Arteta told you he'd move you back to central midfield, what was your reaction? Were you expecting the opportunity?

It wasn't decided in a single conversation or moment. The culture within our team is always to be ready for the next challenge. There are no dramatic fairytale moments—it's a long accumulation of work that eventually leads to these outcomes.

Mentally Lots of Strength. I've heard from various sources that despite being just under 20 years old, your willpower and dedication are exemplary among young players. Are you aware of this, and is it something you deliberately cultivate?

This quality comes from my parents and the people around me. I'm fortunate to have strong-willed people surrounding me. Mental strength is like a muscle—it needs deliberate training. For me, building mental fortitude is as important as, if not more important than, building physical strength. With a strong enough inner core, you can calmly face any situation.

Speaking of Arsenal's young talents, there's Max Dowman, who like you has progressed from the academy to the first team. With all the attention from outside, I'm sure you're helping guide him?

Of course. Dowman himself is also receptive to advice and guidance. As long as a player is willing to listen, I'm happy to help. Beyond football, he has a great character and is a wonderful young man. I'm glad to help him, and I've genuinely been doing so all along.

Media Lots Said you might leave this summer, but in reality, you've stayed and shown complete commitment to the club. Fans absolutely adore you. I witnessed it in Naples—you were singing with the fans, and everyone was chanting "Miles, sing a song! Miles, sing a song!" and you led them in singing: "We know who we are—English champions, we know who we are." Does this reflect the bond between you and the fans? Public opinion about you on social media is also almost entirely positive.

That's right. I'm also a fan at heart. The emotion in that moment was very genuine; I wanted to bring joy to our supporters. At that moment, the fans were confined to the stands and couldn't move freely, so why not sing together?

As for social media, I rarely engage with it directly, and outside noise doesn't really affect me. I trust my mum and my team's representatives; they're like an extension of me. In our dealings with people and external communication, we do our best. We always prioritize being a good person over playing football—that's a principle we hold very dear.

As someone who came through the club's academy, the connection you have with fans doesn't require effort to nurture—it forms naturally, doesn't it?

Exactly. This kind of emotion can't be manufactured. Years of academy development, working my way to where I am now, playing in front of them—this bond is deeply embedded in my core, and it's genuinely precious.
