After completing training on September 26 local time, Japan international Keisuke Goto was interviewed by Japanese media.

On his role as a substitute striker, Goto said:

"Matanovic, who started, is excellent. I'm learning while playing, so I'm not in a hurry. I think moving from Belgium to the Bundesliga is a step up, so I've been taking my time to adapt well. Although the coach only gives me limited minutes, he plays me in every match, so I feel like I've earned his trust."

"He holds the ball up well physically in front, and his linked pressing, combined with his technical ability despite his height, allows him to be a pivot in ground duels. I want to learn from his simple ball handling in these areas while also developing my own playing style."

"In terms of intensity, I can now press continuously, and when long balls are played, my pursuit and pressing for the second ball is better than when I was at Sint-Truiden. These are requirements, and if I can't do them, I won't play, so I feel capable of handling these things now."

"I'm now able to get into a position where I can touch the ball in front of the opponent, secure it, lay it off, and then make a forward run again, so I want to improve that further."

"I'm not the type of player who likes to receive the ball facing forward, dribble, and shoot myself, but in shooting practice, with excellent goalkeepers, I have to strike powerful shots into the corners, and I feel the quality in that area is improving."

On not being in the squad for his first match, he said:

"Since there were four matches in total, I figured there would be times when I wouldn't play, so I wasn't that anxious or disappointed. I just thought I needed to be prepared for the next match."
