UEFA will distribute approximately 31.5 million euros to clubs that release players for the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League this week, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

This is the first payment under the current cycle of UEFA's Club Support Programme. These payments are part of a total allocation of 104 million euros, intended to compensate clubs releasing players for the 2024-25 and 2026-27 UEFA Nations League seasons, as well as the UEFA Euro 2028 qualifiers. The distribution mechanism of this program remains unchanged from the previous version.

The program calculates compensation on a player-per-match basis, with clubs receiving 3,845 euros for each appearance of an eligible player on the match sheet for the Nations League or European qualifiers. Compensation for Euro 2028 will be calculated on a player-per-day basis. The program covers 611 clubs from all UEFA member associations, including many amateur clubs. RB Leipzig will receive the highest amount in this payment batch, approximately 353,000 euros for providing 16 players.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin stated: "The Club Support Programme recognizes the crucial contribution clubs make to the success of national team football. Through this program, we distribute a portion of EURO and Nations League revenues to clubs across Europe, both professional and amateur, acknowledging their role in player development and supplying players to national teams. When football thrives, everyone benefits."

The current club benefits cycle linked to Euro 2028 totals 244 million euros, which includes the remaining 4 million euros from UEFA's Euro 2024 program. Of this, 104 million euros will be distributed to clubs releasing players for the 2024-25 and 2026-27 UEFA Nations League seasons and Euro 2028 qualifiers, with another 140 million euros reserved for clubs releasing players during the tournament's final stage. Subsequent payments will continue to be disbursed in phases as the relevant competitions conclude.
