According to talkSPORT, Balogun has discussed his failed move to Everton on transfer deadline day and revealed that a return to the Premier League could happen in the future.

The striker was reportedly close to completing a move from Monaco to Everton for £40 million. However, a serious issue was discovered during his medical examination, forcing Everton to renegotiate the deal.

The transfer appeared to be back on after both parties agreed to reduce the fee and include performance-related add-ons. Balogun then missed his scheduled flight to England and subsequently changed his mind about joining Everton, despite the club having submitted the paperwork.

Balogun returned to action for Monaco ahead of the international break. He gave an exclusive interview to talkSPORT on the day of the first NFL London game of the season and watched the Indianapolis Colts defeat the Washington Commanders at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When asked if he would like to return to the Premier League in the future, Balogun said: "Yes, possibly. Football has many twists and turns, as we've seen since the World Cup. I came very close to completing a transfer, but ultimately it didn't happen, but it's certainly an option."

Balogun began his career in England, spending 12 years at Arsenal before joining Monaco in 2023. However, he made only 2 Premier League appearances for Arsenal during his time there.

Discussing Monaco's season start, Balogun said: "We've had a good start to the season. We've made good starts in recent seasons, so I feel the most important thing is how you finish. We'll take it one step at a time."

Filipe Luis's Monaco remain unbeaten after five matches and top Ligue 1. Balogun returned to the squad for Monaco's win over Lens ahead of the international break, having been excluded from the club's Europa Conference League squad following the failed Everton transfer.
