According to Diario Sport, Mbappé has returned to Madrid, but his comeback is far from smooth, with fan discontent rising over how his injury is being handled.

Mbappé arrived in the Spanish capital, landing at Madrid airport at 11:16 local time on Monday, 45 minutes after his teammates began training at Valdebebas. The French forward is scheduled to resume training at Real Madrid City on Tuesday. However, his return is proving to be anything but smooth. After a turbulent ten days—starting with a left knee injury sustained while scoring the decisive goal for France against Turkey—the striker faces an extremely tense environment, with fan frustration simmering ahead of the crucial months ahead.

The spark for Real Madrid fan discontent is not the injury itself, but how it has been managed. This mirrors last season, also on the eve of El Clásico. He immediately left the French national team training camp citing "injury recovery," but without undergoing proper functional rehabilitation and disciplined rest at Madrid. Rather than being treated at Real Madrid City under the daily supervision of the club's medical staff, his subsequent movements have caused confusion and anger among Real Madrid fans. It is difficult to understand why recovery was not conducted entirely in the Valdebebas physiotherapy facilities.

Making matters worse, Mbappé's high-profile activities during this period have done nothing to ease tensions. Videos he shared on social media of cycling—while still recovering from his knee injury—along with certain organizational or media-related details, such as him holding up a Ceuta jersey, have been perceived by some fans as dismissive and tone-deaf to the club's demands. In an environment where player commitment and faith in defending the club's badge have been lacking at Real Madrid for years, every misstep fuels widespread discontent among supporters.
