Bayern Munich is preparing a successor to Manuel Neuer, according to Sky Germany.

Although negotiations with Neuer and Ulreich remain ongoing, the club's management has already begun considering potential succession plans.

According to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich has clear preferences: the club does not want to sign a young goalkeeper who would immediately pressure Ulreich or create an open competition for the number-one position. Instead, Bayern Munich is seeking an experienced goalkeeper who offers stability, leadership, and is willing to serve as a backup.

FC Cologne goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe is among the candidates. The 31-year-old has extensive Bundesliga experience, and his contract runs until summer 2027. According to reports, his contract includes an automatic extension clause if he plays 20 matches this season.

Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann is also considered a potential candidate internally by Bayern Munich. His contract runs until 2028 with a one-year extension option. The former German international has international experience and a strong reputation.

The shortlist also includes Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, whose contract runs until 2027 with a one-year extension option; Augsburg goalkeeper Marcel Lotka, whose contract runs until 2027; former Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels, currently playing for Al-Qadsiah with a contract until 2027; and former Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain with a contract until 2028.

Additionally, Union Berlin goalkeeper Frederik Rønnow's contract details remain unclear. International candidates include former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký, currently at Monaco with a contract until 2027 and a one-year extension option; Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope, with a contract until 2027; Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Juan Musso, with a contract until 2028; and Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Silva, with a contract until 2028.

These candidates have different profiles, but all possess top-level experience and generally meet Bayern Munich's criteria for a goalkeeper.
