According to AS, following a series of problems experienced by the Burkina Faso national team during their trip to Argentina for a friendly match, the Benin team, which will participate in Messi's national team farewell match, has also expressed dissatisfaction with Argentina's reception arrangements. The Benin team reportedly endured a 25-hour journey with multiple connections, and upon arriving in Buenos Aires, their hotel facilities failed to meet basic needs.

AS, citing initial reports from local media outlet Mega Sports Media, stated that the Benin national team's flight to Argentina involved multiple connections, with the entire journey lasting over 24 hours. The grueling journey even caused one of the team's video analysts to lose consciousness.

Upon arriving in Buenos Aires, the Benin team faced additional problems with their accommodation. Reports indicated that one floor of their hotel lacked hot water, the sauna facilities were unusable, and the gym equipment was basic, consisting of only two treadmills and two stationary bikes.

Additionally, the report noted that three players from the Benin national team had not yet arrived in Buenos Aires at that time. As time passed, dissatisfaction within the delegation continued to mount.

AS compared Benin's experience with the previous situation involving Burkina Faso. Earlier, Burkina Faso had to send their U23 national team to Argentina at the last minute due to travel arrangement issues, with players arriving just before the match began.

However, it should be noted that Mega Sports Media subsequently published a separate report offering a completely different, and somewhat sarcastic, explanation of the situation.

The outlet wrote in its follow-up report: "The hot water supply on the fourth floor of the hotel is completely normal... And there's more good news: the video analyst's work is running brilliantly..."
