Reporter Miao Yuan has revealed that youth development coaches at Dalian have been owed salaries for an extended period, with some resorting to driving for Didi (ride-hailing service) to make ends meet.

According to Miao Yuan, youth coaches at Dalian have faced prolonged salary arrears. Local coaches with families and savings have managed to get by temporarily; however, younger coaches from other provinces face greater hardship. Unwilling to burden the parents of their young players, some have taken on side jobs, with several driving for Didi.
Miao Yuan reports that coaches at the youth academy under the Dalian Football Association went unpaid for an entire year last year. After Coach Zhang led the team to victory at the National Games, two months of salary were paid in September, eight months in October, and two months in December.

This year, coaches have still not received their salaries. Without achievements at the National Games to justify payment, and with the Dalian team failing to win the Northeast Super League championship, coaches see little prospect of being paid. Miao Yuan also noted that coaches' monthly tax records for this year show zero income. They have called the 12345 hotline and were told their complaint has been filed and they should expect a response by mid-October, though the outcome cannot be guaranteed.

Miao Yuan stated that the Dalian Football Association has responded positively, assuring that salaries will definitely be paid, but they are currently delayed. Coaches have mortgages and car loans, and previously relied on borrowing from each other to survive, but now even lenders are running out of patience.
