According to Footmercato, Morocco coach Mohamed Wahbi was asked about forward Ebunutalib after Germany coach Jürgen Klopp showed strong interest in him.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward had been closely monitored by Morocco for several months but ultimately chose to represent Germany. Wahbi explained that had Ebunutalib chosen Morocco, he would have been called up to the "Atlas Lions".

"We started following Ebunutalib last season, and he has always been on our preliminary list. He is a very attractive player for us, but after his injury, it was difficult to imagine him participating in the World Cup. However, he has been on our radar for a year, and I don't think the German team can say the same. He has performed well at the start of the season and deserves his selection.
