In an interview with Sky Sport, Obiang discussed his feelings after becoming Monza's sporting director, as well as the team's youth development program and the upcoming match against Sassuolo.

In an interview with Sky Sport, Obiang spoke about his feelings after taking on the role of Monza's sporting director, as well as the team's youth development program and the upcoming match against Sassuolo.
Obiang said: "Of course, I feel much better now. I'm starting to show what I can do. The difficulty was integrating into the existing management system. This year, I occasionally communicated with the club, and they also asked me when I would take over this position. I wanted to do this, but I didn't expect such a big opportunity."
Speaking about his adaptation to the new role, Obiang said: "I am trying to learn. I was fortunate to have played with many talented players, but the most important thing is still the team. Only my identity has changed; I no longer wear shorts."
Regarding Monza Drive, the youth player development project recently launched by Monza, Obiang said: "This project is very straightforward. We want to respect the natural development process. There are many young players in the team, and we will move forward step by step; this philosophy is already evident."
Speaking about his relationship with Adriano Galliani, Obiang said: "Fortunately, he was still here when I arrived. He sent me a message, and several sporting directors encouraged me. I always want to seize opportunities."
Regarding the match against Sassuolo on September 19 at 2:45 PM CEST, Obiang said: "Sassuolo? Our league is always competitive like this. They are a team that will fight hard, and they will also try to take something away tomorrow."
