Gameweek 5 of the Premier League kicked off last night at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton & Hove Albion secured a commanding 3-0 victory over reigning champions Arsenal, handing the Gunners their first defeat of the season. The 35-year-old German veteran Gross was directly involved in two goals.

In the 31st minute, Brighton & Hove Albion won the ball high up the pitch. Gross struck a long-range shot from outside the box, and the ball hit the inside of the post before finding the net, making it 1-0.

In the 57th minute of the second half, Gross delivered a corner from the left to the far post, where Welbeck rose highest to head home, sealing the 3-0 scoreline. Gross completed a goal and an assist.

With this victory, Brighton & Hove Albion climbed to third in the league table, while Arsenal, who had won all four of their opening matches, suffered their first defeat of the season. Statistically, Gross has now been directly involved in seven goals in his last five games, having scored in consecutive matches against Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
