In the fifth round of the Premier League, Arsenal, the defending champions who had begun with four consecutive wins, suffered a 3-0 defeat on the south coast against Brighton & Hove Albion.

In the first four Premier League rounds, Arsenal defeated Coventry 3-0, Aston Villa 1-0, Chelsea 2-1, and Sunderland 2-0, conceding only one goal, scored by Morgan Rogers.

Against Brighton & Hove Albion, Gross and Kostoulas scored with long-range shots in the first half, and Chema Andres extended the lead in the second half, with Arsenal conceding three goals.

The last time Arsenal lost by a three-goal margin was on May 14, 2023, when the Gunners suffered a 0-3 home defeat, also to Brighton & Hove Albion.
