According to overseas media statistics, Como goalkeeper Jean-Butez has become the oldest player to be called up to the French national team since 1976.

Due to Robin-Risser's withdrawal from the squad (rib injury), Jean-Butez was called up for his first selection to the French national team. At 31 years and 3 months old, he becomes the oldest player to achieve this feat in nearly 50 years, since 1976.

According to Statsdufoot, the previous record holder was Gérard Farison of Saint-Étienne in 1976, who was 32 years and 1 month old.
